The LA Galaxy defeated the NY Red Bulls 2-1 (3-1 on Aggregate) to advance to the Conference Championship. The Red Bulls started off very quickly with a goal from Luke Rodgers during the 4th minute, however Mike Magee (42nd minute) and Landon Donovan (75th minute penalty kick) solidified their fate.
The Seattle Sounders defeated Real Salt Lake 2-0 but it wasn’t enough to advance to the Conference Championship since Real Salt Lake held on for a 3-2 aggregate victory. Osvaldo Alonso (56th minute penalty kick) and Lamar Neagle (61st minute) scored for the Sounders.
LA will take on Real Salt Lake November 6th at 9pm ET for the Western Conference Championship. The winner of this match will advance to the MLS Cup Finals.
Sporting Kansas City defeated the Colorado Rapids to advance to their conference finals with a 4-0 aggregate. Aurelien Collin (28th minute) and C.J. Sapong (76th minute) scored for Sporting.
The Houston Dynamo defeated the Philadelphia Union 1-0 to advance to the conference finals with a 3-1 aggregate. Brian Ching scored the lone goal during the 48th minute.
Sporting Kansas City will take on the Houston Dynamo Sunday November 6th at 5:30 pm ET. The winner will advance to play either the LA Galaxy or Real Salt Lake.
